Paris Saint-Germain vs Reims
Coupe de France glory is on the line as Paris Saint-Germain and Reims go head-to-head in the grand final at the Stade de France.
Paris Saint-Germain’s pursuit of a famous treble faces arguably the simplest task on paper after lifting the Ligue 1 crown as they face Reims in the final. After winning a 13th league title, Les Parisiens will be out to conquer the Coupe de France for a record-extending 16th time. It would be an ideal warm-up for next week’s Champions League final against Inter Milan. Yet, Luis Enrique’s men have struggled against Reims lately, drawing both league H2Hs this season via an identical 1-1 scoreline. Furthermore, five of the last six meetings between these teams have ended all square (W1), suggesting this may not be a walk in the park. However, the perennial French champions have been ruthless in this competition, winning their last 11 matches since a 2-1 defeat to Marseille in February 2023.
In the meantime, Reims come into proceedings after drawing 1-1 with Metz in the first leg of their Ligue 1 relegation playoff tie in midweek, so this may be a welcome distraction for the two-time Coupe de France winners. Despite qualifying for only their fourth cup final, Reims have barely reached the showpiece event, with three of their four ties in 2025 decided on penalties. Moreover, Samba Diawara’s charges have only netted seven goals en route to the final. Only two teams in the past 35 years have reached the final with fewer goals scored, and both ended up losing, which is hardly a promising sign for Reims.
