Tampines Rovers vs Pathum United

Jalan Besar Stadium is the venue as Tampines Rovers and Pathum United go head-to-head in the return leg of their Singapore Cup semi-final tie.

Four-time Singapore Cup winners Tampines must defy an underwhelming four-game stretch in all competitions (W1, D1, L2) to secure a shot at their first cup title since 2019. With the tie evenly poised at 1-1, Gavin Lee’s men head into proceedings on a two-game winless run (D1, L1), including an uneventful 0-0 draw against Lion City at this stadium. However, the Stags have only lost once in seven competitive home matches since the start of February (W4, D2). Five of those seven games have featured under 2.5 goals, underscoring the potential for a low-scoring fixture, which was the case in their only previous home meeting with Pathum United in this competition (0-1).

Meanwhile, Pathum won this tournament in 2010 and finished runners-up a year before, meaning they’ll be out to preserve a 100% record in the Singapore Cup semi-finals. However, they already suffered a cup elimination earlier this month, with Buriram United thrashing them 3-0 in the Thai FA Cup semis, condemning them to a second consecutive scoreless outing (D1, L1). A lack of consistency on the road has seen the Rabbits alternate between winning and losing across their last four away matches (W2, L2), with each fixture featuring 3+ goals. In fact, Pathum’s six road games since the start of April have contained at least three goals, suggesting fans in attendance may be in for a treat after all.
