West Ham United vs Bournemouth
London Stadium forms the backdrop for a tasty-looking Premier League clash between West Ham United and Bournemouth.
It’s been a disastrous Premier League campaign for West Ham as they head into the final eight rounds down in 16th following an underwhelming 1-0 loss at fellow bottom-half strugglers Wolverhampton in midweek. That result extended West Ham’s winless league run to three games (D1, L2), pouring more misery on Graham Potter’s lackluster start in the dugout. If it’s any consolation, Potter’s charges boast a substantial 14-point lead over the bottom three, meaning there’s almost no chance of dropping to the Championship next term. Bournemouth’s upcoming visit to London may be just what the doctor ordered for out-of-sorts West Ham, as they’ve not lost any of their last seven league H2Hs (W3, D4), including a 1-1 draw in December’s reverse fixture.
On the other hand, Bournemouth’s hopes of securing an unlikely European qualification have significantly dwindled in recent months, with a dismal 2-1 home loss to relegation-battling Ipswich in midweek Premier League action marking their third consecutive defeat across league and cup competitions. Furthermore, Andoni Iraola’s men head into proceedings on a disappointing five-game winless run in the Premier League alone (D1, L4), accounting for their longest wait for a top-flight victory in the same season since February 2024. On a positive note, the Cherries have only suffered one defeat across their last nine league matches on the road (W5, D3) – with their 23 away points this season already a club record in the Premier League.
